Quad-Deck Floor System

Quad-Deck System

Quad-Deck Insulated Floors and Ceilings

Quad-Deck is a revolutionary Insulating Concrete Form designed to quickly build insulated, lower mass, reinforced concrete floors and roofs. Quad-Deck Panels are made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation molded around perforated, galvanized metal Z strips that act as both secondary shoring during construction and as attachment points for finish materials. After the concrete has reached sufficient strength in the curing process and temporary shoring has been removed, the forms stay in place to function as insulation and space for utilities.

Quad-Deck was invented to work seamlessly with the Quad-Lock Wall System to minimize the building mass, reduce shoring requirements, and to increase the speed and efficiency of the construction of floors and roofs.

Quad-Deck uses patented technology to create an energy efficient and quality insulating concrete floor or roof system. Ideal for use in both commercial and residential construction, Quad-Deck combines the strength, security, and reliability of concrete with the energy  efficiency, design flexibility, and comfort of insulating concrete forms. Quad-Deck panels shape a series of T-beams every 24" [610mm] which integrate with a concrete slab. The resulting monolithic concrete structure provides two-way span capacity and a shear plane for superior structural performance using less concrete & less time.

Quad-Deck Panels

Panels are 2' wide and available in any length required up to a practical max length of about 33' for residential loads. Thickness ranges from 7" to 12.5" depending on load requirements and concrete beam depth ranges from 5" to 10 1/2".

*Please note that this is a product that needs engineering. A sign waiver is required to purchase this product.

EPS Top Hats

Top hats further increase the Quad-Deck effective beam depth beyond standard thicknesses, which can increase live load and clear span capacity of the floor or roof system.

These are custom ordered in any thickness required and are glued to the top of the Quad-Deck panel at the job site.

Quad-Deck Advantages for Owners and Occupants

Quad-Deck Concrete Floor and Roofs create truly comfortable, healthy, and bunker-strong buildings with lower Total Cost of Ownership than traditional construction when combined with ICF walls.

Durable and Resilient

  • Superior protection from disasters: storms, fires, floods & earthquakes
  • Long term building durability from reinforced concrete
  • Low cost to repair water damage from leaks
  • No food source for insects

Healthy and Comfortable

  • Controllable indoor air quality due to minimal air infiltration
  • Inert materials don't support the growth of mold or mildew
  • No formaldehyde, VOCs, or other offgassing during normal use
  • Consistent indoor temperatures without drafts or cold spots
  • Less noise with high sound transmission ratings (STC)

Sustainable

Lower life cycle costs and emissions due to:

  • Structure life cycle measured in centuries not decades
  • High R-values and low air infiltration
  • Reduced HVAC sizing and reduced heating and cooling costs
  • Thermal mass properties are ideal for passive solar designs
  • Perfect for in-floor radiant heating

Quad-Deck Advantages for Architects and Contractors

Joist Heights & R-values can vary to meet project requirements. Spans up to 33 feet and more with Top Hats.

Cost Effective Solutions

  • Combines forming, insulation, air-barrier, and furring strips
  • No cranes or heavy equipment besides concrete pump
  • Uses less concrete and steel vs. traditional slabs
  • Minimal or no site waste

Light and Flexible Design

  • Lighter structure with about half the self weight vs. traditional slabs
  • Reduces structural requirements for foundations and walls
  • Easily integrates with ICF, CMU, or concrete wall and beam designs
  • Easy to adapt to many design elements

Fast and Easy Installation

  • Lightweight forms are easy to handle
  • Delivered ready to install, factory pre-cut to exact lengths
  • Temporary shoring typically only 5-6' with self-reinforced panels
  • No stripping of forms nor bond-breakers needed
  • Space to run utilities within the Quad-Deck forms
  • Built-in furring to attach drywall and other finishes
